The Pentagon has identified two of the deceased soldiers from a strike on Muwaffaq Salti air base in Jordan as First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Hawaii, and Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, from Texas. Another service member died in northern Iraq due to a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance, and officials are probing the remains of a possible fourth victim found in Jordan.
These tragic losses have occurred amidst a series of U.S. strikes on Iranian targets, marking the tenth consecutive assault. Iran has pledged to retaliate against regional allies that align with U.S. military endeavors. The Democratic criticism of Trump’s strategy in this escalating conflict is growing. Senator Chris Murphy highlighted the rapid deterioration of the situation, while House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned the military actions as an unnecessary and costly war that endangers American soldiers.
Calls for de-escalation are gaining momentum among Democratic lawmakers, including Senators Mark Warner and Chris Van Hollen, who have urged for an immediate cessation of hostilities and insisted on congressional approval for any further military actions.
